- 2025 Limited TRD 4x4

Hey everyone, I wanted to put my quick thoughts down as to some of the best first mods for offroading, then I want some feedback below if you think that there are more important first mods.
First I would say Rims and Tires are a must. I personally have the Tundra Limited TRD 4x4 and the 20in rims with Falken Wildpeak AT3W-A are not even close to an offroading rim/tire combo. I have to be careful to not scratch rims in the parking lot, much less have a chance to actually take it off-road. I think a 17in rim with a 33-35 in tire is ideal for the new Tundras. If you want an aggressive stance go 0mm offset, for a more moderate stance consider -17mm offset.
After rims and tires I would say suspension can be addressed. I honestly believe that if you do hard offroading that an upgraded suspension is a must, but even if you plan on just light offroading a light lift or level might be a great inexpensive option to allow for just a bit more clearance without the need for dropping big cash on a full suspension replacement.
Last but not least, armor. At the least I would consider a skid plate and true rock rails a must for the long wheelbase Tundras especially if you are going anywhere that might be a bit rocky. Obviously if you have the cash, a front and rear metal bumper are ideal in addition to a differential skid plate, but these definitely a bit on the expensive side for most people.
Comment below if you have any thoughts and I will keep you posted on which I do first for my rig.
