Recently picked up some cheap insurance. With the bed gap on the Tundra and overall human error of my truck being unlocked outside my house it is always a fear someone is going to come by and snatch my tailgate.
With practice the Tailgate can be removed and taken from the truck in less than 30 seconds. There are some other ways to secure the tailgate for sure but with 3 simple steps I can secure the tailgate with simple stainless bracket.

Step 1​

Remove the first 10 mm bolt at the bottom of the headlight.

Step 2​

Place the bracket on so the hole lines up with the removed 10mm

Step 3​

Install the new security bolt in place holding the bracket in place.


That's about it. A simple install and cheap insurance.
