Coming from my Tacoma build, I expected fitting 35s on the Tundra to be a nightmare. Honestly though, it was way easier than I thought. Here’s the breakdown:

Specs:
Wheels: ModCo M72 17x8.5 +0
Tires: Hankook Dynapro ATM 315/70/17

What Needed to Change (not as much as you think):
  1. Minor trimming on the rear mud flap until no more rubbing.
  2. Opened up the rear fender liner and unbolted the bracket holding it in place (two 12mm bolts). The liner stays supported by the remaining bolts.
  3. Relocated the plastic brackets holding the front fender liner by zip-tying it forward to the crash bar. Pulled on the zip ties until it cleared completely.
What I think:
The 35s are absolutely worth it in an all-terrain. The truck looks right, drives smooth, and feels solid. The main reason my fitment was so easy is because I went with a 17x8.5 +0 wheel instead of a 9” wide or something with negative offset. That gave me just enough radius to clear without more aggressive trimming.

If I had gone -25 or a 9” wheel, I’d probably have needed to pull the rear fender liner further back and maybe even make some permanent changes up front.

For anyone on the fence — I’d recommend the 35s all day long. I’m also running some analysis testing right now to get real-world MPG data so I’ll have numbers to share soon.
