If you’ve been following my build journey with my 3rd Gen Tundra, you know I’m all about form and function. So when it came time to upgrade the wheels, I wasn’t looking for just another flashy set—I wanted something that was tough, clean, and trail-proven. That’s why I went with the Method Race Wheels MR312 in Double Black, 17x8.5 with a 0 offset, and let me tell you, this setup does not disappoint.

First off, let’s talk aesthetics. The Double Black finish on the MR312 is pure aggression. It has that stealthy, tactical look that matches the rest of my build perfectly—especially against my blacked-out emblems and accessories. The bronze and machined finishes are great, but this matte black-on-black just hits differently. It gives the truck a purposeful stance that turns heads without screaming for attention.

But this wheel isn’t just about looks.

The 0 offset is a game-changer. It gives my Tundra a more planted and wider stance without needing massive spacers or throwing off the geometry too much. With the 17x8.5 sizing and the 0 offset, I get just the right amount of poke to clear my larger tires and improve stability, especially when I’m out on the trails. Plus, it gives the wheel wells a full, beefed-up look without rubbing issues when paired with the right tire and suspension combo.

Speaking of off-roading—this is where the MR312 shines.

Built with Method’s patented Bead Grip® technology, these wheels give you peace of mind when running lower tire pressures. While they’re not full beadlocks, they still offer increased security for the tire bead compared to traditional wheels. That means better traction on rocks, sand, and loose terrain without worrying about debeading when things get technical.

Durability-wise, Method is one of those brands that just doesn’t play around. The MR312 is constructed from A356 aluminum with T6 heat treatment, meaning it can take serious abuse. Whether I’m crawling in the desert, navigating rocky washes, or cruising down muddy backroads, I know these wheels can take the hits and keep rolling.

Another small detail I love is the snap-in center cap. It’s clean, subtle, and ties everything together. It doesn’t scream aftermarket, but if you know, you know.

Overall, the MR312s have transformed the look and feel of my 3rd Gen Tundra. They’re rugged, dependable, and visually on point. If you’re considering upgrading your wheels and want something that performs as hard as it looks—these should be at the top of your list.

If you’ve got questions about fitment, tire pairing, or how they perform off-road, hit me up. Always down to help a fellow Tundra owner dial in their build!
