2023 TRD Off Road SR5 4X4
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to the community — I’m Efren, but on Instagram I go by @trd.legacy. I’ve been quietly building and sharing my rigs over the past year, and I figured it was time to jump into the forum side of things, connect with like-minded enthusiasts, and swap ideas, inspiration, and maybe a little advice too.

Right now, I’m blessed to own two awesome rigs: a 2023 Toyota Tundra TRD Off-Road and a 2024 Toyota Sequoia TRD Off-Road — both 3rd gen platforms, both in that bold, modern redesign that’s really taken Toyota trucks and SUVs to a whole new level.

2023 Tundra TRD Off-Road
This truck is my main adventure and off-road build. It’s a crewmax, 4x4, and I’ve been slowly upgrading it for both looks and capability. So far, I’ve added:
  • Westcott Designs preload collar lift (leveling out the stance perfectly)
  • 35” BFGoodrich KO2s on Method MR312 double black wheels
  • Rave Off-Road TRD Pro-style grille with integrated amber LED light bar
  • Alpharex Nova Series Alpha Black headlights – game-changer for nighttime runs
  • Amber fog lights, some subtle black-out touches, and a few OEM+ interior upgrades
This Tundra is a beast on and off the pavement — the powertrain, suspension, and space make it an ideal setup for off-roading and road trips. And with every mod, it’s getting closer to where I want it to be.

2024 Sequoia TRD Off-Road
This is the newest addition to the garage and quickly becoming a family favorite. It’s the perfect complement to the Tundra — same platform, but with more passenger space, better cargo organization, and just as capable when it comes to hitting trails or tackling long hauls.

The Sequoia is still in the early stages of the build, but the plan is to give it that subtle overland-ready style while keeping it comfortable and functional for family adventures. So far I’ve:
  • Tinted the windows and blacked out some of the chrome
  • Added a TRD skid plate
  • Swapped the fog lights for amber LEDs
  • Started researching a mild lift, roof rack system, and drawer storage for the rear
It’s amazing how versatile this platform is — rugged enough to go exploring, refined enough for long highway drives with the family.

Why I Started @trd.legacy
I created my Instagram account to document the journey of building both vehicles — not just for show, but for actual use. Whether it’s trail runs, beach days, or backroad escapes, I want my builds to reflect real-life adventure and function. The page is all about the legacy we leave behind — in the memories we create, the trails we conquer, and the gear we pass down.
I’ve met some incredible people in the Toyota/off-road community through IG already, and I’m looking forward to connecting here with even more folks who share the same passion.
If you’re into 3rd gen builds — Tundra or Sequoia — or just enjoy seeing clean, functional Toyota rigs, give me a follow on Instagram at @trd.legacy. I love checking out other builds and sharing ideas too.
Looking forward to learning, sharing, and growing with this community. Let’s build something great together!
