Hey Guys! Super stoked to share that I am going to be one of the first recipients of the new Xtrusion overland XO Skeleton Bed Rack for the 3rd Gen Tundra. I’d thought I would share with you guys first how my experience has been so far with the process and then update you later after I receive and install it.

Xtrusion Overland is based out of Wichita Kansas and I found out about the bed rack through research online. I had the privilege of ordering a few items with them other than the rack and it came pretty quick, but the bed rack itself was a pre-order so as they finish their R&D I’ve gotten updates. Overall the guys at the company seem great and the bed rack is definitely getting some really cool upgrades along the way, such as cerakoted corner brackets that have a few color options (I chose titanium which is like a light brown color).

The main reason I decided to go this route is a few crucial factors: Price, Function, and finally modularity.

The price on the bed rack is $2500 which is definitely not the cheapest on the market, or even in their lineup. The XTR1 starts at $1599 and the XTR3 is around $2099 starting price. But the XO shines through modularity. Not only will they have the Molle Panels everyone is looking to have now on the bed rack, but you also have an option to fully enclose the bed rack to make it a topper for only an additional $1300. Even at a total cost of $3300 having a topper for a Tundra at that price is unmatched especially when considering the cost of most truck toppers nowadays.

I personally had a softopper for my Tacoma, and I loved being able to put gear in the back and have it sheltered from the elements. It was great but the softopper was too weak to be considered for protection or mounting gear. For the new build I was shooting to be able to mount my boxes and traction boards at minimum without needing a roof rack (which kills MPG) and I think this will be a perfect fit.

I’m looking forward to sharing updates here when it arrives and if you have any questions or comments please post them below.
