When it comes to the 3rd Gen Tundra, you get two main bed sizes: 5.5-foot and 6.5-foot — no 8-footer unless you’re going SR trim and work truck spec.

I personally went with the 5.5-foot since I wanted a crew cab and plan to use a tonneau + bed rack setup. It’s been fine for daily driving, camping, and even hauling plywood with the tailgate down. That was my first Tundra though...

That said, I did miss the extra room at times — especially when loading up tools, lumber, or when the bed is full of gear. The 6.5-foot makes way more sense if you’re not worried about overall length. So That's why I got a Platinum with the 6.5' bed, and it was a game changer. It helped so much for our real estate needs and road trips. I would highly recommend the longer bed...if you are ok with crappy turning radius.

What bed length are you guys running and has it worked for your needs? Any regrets either way?
