If you’re serious about off-road lighting, the Baja Designs LP4 is hands down one of the most versatile and powerful lights you can add to your 3rd Gen Tundra. I recently installed a pair of LP4s on my rig and let me tell you—these lights are next level. Here’s a breakdown of why I chose them and how they’ve completely transformed my night runs.

1. Why LP4?
The LP4 bridges the gap between the compact power of the LP6 and the full-blown madness of the LP9. With a smaller footprint, it’s perfect for bumper, ditch, or even roof mounting without looking bulky or overpowering the design of the truck. It’s ideal for builds that want performance without sacrificing aesthetics or airflow.
2. Lighting Performance
Each LP4 delivers over 8,750 lumens and comes with Baja Designs’ signature Amber backlighting, which not only looks aggressive but also functions as a great safety feature during low-visibility conditions. These lights feature the brand’s uService®, ClearView®, MoistureBlock™, and CopperDrive® technologies—all designed to maximize performance, durability, and efficiency. What this means in real life? I get daylight clarity in pitch-black environments.
3. Mounting Setup
I mounted my LP4s on the front bumper using Baja Designs’ compatible brackets paired with a Rave Off Road auxiliary switch system. Install was clean and seamless, and the wiring into my AuxBeam panel makes them easy to control. I love how they sit low and aggressive, yet still command authority when turned on.
4. Driving Experience
Once the sun sets and I’m out on the trail, that’s where these lights really shine—literally. The combination beam pattern throws a wide flood while still reaching far down the trail, giving me full visibility of what’s ahead and to the sides. No more guessing what’s hiding in the shadows. Perfect for high-speed desert runs, crawling at night, or navigating through fog or Baja dust.
5. Looks + Function = Perfection
Besides raw performance, the LP4s just look mean. The aggressive housing and signature amber backlight make a bold statement, even during the day. They blend perfectly with the rugged look of the 3rd Gen Tundra. When I’m parked at meetups or fueling up on road trips, these lights always get compliments.
6. Final Thoughts
If you’re building out a 3rd Gen Tundra and want a serious lighting upgrade that delivers on all fronts—performance, durability, looks, and versatility—you really can’t go wrong with the LP4s from Baja Designs. Whether you’re in the mountains, desert, or hitting trails after dark, these lights are a game changer.
