Was out wheeling with a buddy recently and we'd wandered off trail a bit exploring. Nothing crazy, just poking around. When it was time to head back we had to pick our way through some rocks to get back on trail. Spotted a gap I thought I could clear over a good sized boulder. What I didn't account for was the boulder shifting under the truck's weight. It rotated right into my rocker panel and door before we even knew what was happening. We got out, assessed the damage, and just kind of stood there. This is actually the second time something like this has happened to me and you'd think I'd have learned my lesson by now.
I already knew rock sliders were important, but this is the kind of thing that moves them from "yeah I should get those eventually" to "these need to happen soon." If I'd had them on, that boulder rotation would've been a non issue. Anyway, posting this mostly as a reminder to myself as much as anyone else. If rock sliders are sitting on your list like they were on mine, maybe bump them up. Rockers and doors aren't cheap to fix.
Below is a nice view of the damage. Feel free to roast my poor decision making below.
