Is this the Awning to end all Awnings? Kammock Crosswing

Let me start by saying I’ve owned a lot of overland vehicle-mounted awnings in the past. Honestly, probably more than I’d like to admit. The conclusion I came to for a long time was that most of them are basically the same imported awning with a few minor changes. Different branding, slightly different features, but overall pretty similar. Because of that, I never really looked into the Kammok awning. Mainly because of the price point. I just couldn’t bring myself to pull the trigger on a $1,300 awning. Well, one happened to be mounted on a trailer I rented over the weekend, and I’ve got to say… this thing is 10 out of 10. Is it the strongest awning in the world? No. But what it does incredibly well is set up fast. I would have used my previous awnings way more often if they were this quick and easy to deploy. On top of that, they also have other accessories. I got a chance to try the hammock system, and to my surprise, that was awesome as well. The only downside is that the hammock system weighs a ton, but the setup was easy and my wife was very happy with the comfort level. I think Kammok is definitely pushing some innovation with high-quality, easy-to-use products. The challenge is getting people to make the switch and spend that kind of money. That’s probably the hardest battle.
