- 2023 TRD Off Road SR5 4X4
If you’re building out your 3rd Gen Tundra for off-road, overland, or even weekend warrior duty, one of the best upgrades you can make—hands down—is a reliable and clean auxiliary switch system. I’ve tried a few setups over the years, but the Rave Off Road Auxiliary Switch Kit takes the crown for ease of use, quality, and aesthetics. After installing it, I’m fully convinced this is one of the smartest upgrades I’ve done.
Let’s start with the build quality. This kit isn’t some cheap plastic switch panel that looks like an afterthought—it’s designed with rugged, OEM+ styling in mind. The buttons feel solid and responsive, and the entire system is housed in a clean, weather-resistant enclosure. It feels like something Toyota should have included from the factory.
The installation was straightforward, and I’m not some master electrician. Everything you need comes in the box—relays, fuses, a well-labeled harness, and even detailed instructions that actually make sense. Rave Off Road clearly took the time to think through the DIY experience. Plus, the wiring is super clean with plug-and-play simplicity. No guesswork, no spaghetti mess.
One of my favorite things? The custom labeling options. You can personalize your switches to match exactly what you’re running—ditch lights, chase lights, air compressor, fridge, rock lights, camp lights, you name it. No more flipping random toggles hoping for the right one. Everything is labeled and backlit for visibility, even at night.
Functionally, the Rave Off Road kit has 8 circuits, giving you plenty of room to grow your build without having to rewire every time you add a new mod. I’m currently running fogs, chase lights, a bed light, and compressor—all cleanly controlled from the cab with room for more. Whether you’re mounting a light bar, powering a fridge, or running a full comms setup, this system can handle it.
It’s also designed with safety in mind—integrated fuses, overcurrent protection, and heat-resistant wiring give peace of mind. I’m not worried about shorts or frying components when I’m deep out in the desert or up in the mountains.
And of course, as someone who runs with Rave Off Road gear across my build, I love the fact that this kit fits right into their ecosystem of products. Their gear is tough, clean, and made with the enthusiast in mind—plus the customer service is A1. They’re responsive, helpful, and actually care about the community.
Bottom line? If you’re looking for an auxiliary switch kit that’s as reliable as it is good-looking, Rave Off Road nailed it. It’s functional, future-proof, and clean enough for daily use—but tough enough for any trail.
If you’ve got questions about setup, routing, or how I mounted mine, feel free to reach out. Highly recommend this kit to anyone building a serious rig.
