What’s up Tundra fam,

Currently running the Westcott Designs preload collar lift on my 3rd Gen Tundra TRD Off-Road — still paired with the stock Bilstein suspension that comes factory. The preload kit gave me that perfect leveled stance and just enough clearance for my setup, and honestly, it’s served me well for what I’ve needed so far (daily driving, light off-roading, and looking good around town).

But now I’m ready to take the next step and upgrade to a real suspension system — something that offers better performance off-road, handles more weight (future upgrades coming), and improves ride comfort. I’m currently weighing the pros and cons between budget-friendly setups vs. high-end options.

Here’s what I’m considering:

Budget-Friendly Options:
  • Bilstein 6112/5160 combo
  • Dobinsons IMS
  • Eibach Pro Truck
  • OME Nitrocharger
  • Fox 2.0 IFP
High-End Options:
  • Kings with adjusters
  • Fox 2.5 with DSC
  • ICON Stage 5 or higher
  • Elka Suspension
  • ADS Racing Shocks
My Thoughts So Far:
  • I want something that won’t break the bank but still gives me a major ride quality and performance boost over stock.
  • I do a mix of highway driving, camping trips, fire roads, and eventually plan to get into more technical terrain.
  • Don’t need crazy race-level performance but also don’t want to cheap out and regret it later.
If you’ve made the jump from preload kits to full suspension, what route did you go and why? Was the high-end setup worth every penny, or did a mid-tier/budget kit give you everything you needed?

Would love to hear real-world experiences, especially from other TRD Off-Road owners!
