2025 Limited TRD 4x4
Hey guys! I wanted to post a thread dedicated to the Westcott Designs preload collar lift with some of my thoughts after a little more than 4k miles for those looking into a well priced lift kit for the 3rd Gen Tundra Limited TRD 4x4.

I recently bought the truck and felt like the stance from the factory had that typical ‘stink bug’ look and wanted to do something to correct the rake. I found a local shop that had the 3-1.5 in preload collar lift and frankly even after install it was only around $1200 which I thought was extremely fair to fit larger tires, or just overall add to the appearance of the truck. In short, if you are looking for an inexpensive way to add lift to the truck I highly recommend this kit! It looks great and overall the ride is still very reasonable for the amount of lift provided.

HOWEVER, if I were to go back there are a few things that I wish people had prepared me for or told me to add to really get the most out of this kit.

The first thing is patience, it took a thousand or so miles before the suspension really settled into place and started to smooth out. It will be rough pulling out of the shop! Since then it has come into its own and I again feel that comfortable ride on the road, though I cannot wait to get new rims and tires with larger sidewall to add to the plushness of the ride.

The second thing is I highly recommend adding the extended sway bar links for the front sway bar and the Dr KDSS B.O.T.C.K to correct alignment and keep the suspension from having what I would consider tension. Westcott is correct in saying that it is not needed, but again if I were to add or go back and say what could have made it just a little better from the beginning, I think that this would be a massive gain.

Overall I really do think that the guys over at Westcott have come out with a phenomenal product that is very cost effective, if you have this installed I would love to hear thoughts below and I look forward to getting out with it on the trail soon.
