Heads up fellow Tundra owners — Toyota just announced Recall 25V767 affecting 2022–2024 Tundras with the V35A twin-turbo V6 (non-hybrid). Here’s the fast breakdown from what I read in the post

What the Recall Is About

"there is a possibility that engine machining debris of a particular size and amount may not have been cleared from the engine during manufacturing" - Toyota is acknowledging that there is debris left from the machining process that has not been cleared.

"Toyota is unable to estimate the percentage of the involved vehicles to actually contain the defect described in Section 5" - There is not a specific process and documentation path to tell what trucks exactly have the problem so they must replace every motor.

"pressure on the main bearings due to the engine configuration is such that, if the aforementioned machining debris adheres to the bearings and operation of the engine continues at higher loads over time, failure of the bearings may occur" - It seems like they acknowledge that higher loads over time cause the problem

"Others were produced with an improved main bearing" - Seems like some engines were made with an improved main bearing?

Symptoms to Watch For According to Toyota

"engine knocking, engine rough running, engine nostart and/or an engine stall"

What Toyota Says

"All known owners of the subject vehicles will be informed that they will be contacted when further information is available about the remedy" - But we all know this means 2022-2024 Tundras will be getting new motors.
