The 3rd Gen Toyota Tundra (2022+) ditched the V8 and came in hot with twin-turbo V6 power. You’ve got two main engine options:

• The standard i-FORCE 3.5L twin-turbo V6

• The i-FORCE MAX hybrid twin-turbo V6

Both are solid performers, with the hybrid making the biggest splash. The i-FORCE MAX delivers 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque — a serious bump over the standard 389 hp/479 lb-ft i-FORCE. Both are mated to the same 10-speed transmission.

If you’re towing, both do great, but the hybrid’s torque down low is fantastic. MPG also sees a noticeable jump with the MAX, though it’s not drastically more efficient in real-world use. Normal day to day driving, the normal i-FORCE feels super peppy and less heavy imo from driving both.

Curious what engine setup everyone here went with and why? Any regrets not going hybrid — or vice versa? Or do you wish Toyota jsut left the V8 of old. Let’s hear it.
