Hey y’all, I’m stuck between running 35x12.5x17 or 35x11.5x17 on the Tundra and wanted to see what everyone thinks.

Here’s what I’ve noticed so far:

35x12.5x17

Pros:
  • Looks wider and more aggressive
  • Bigger contact patch = more traction off-road
  • Feels more planted when towing or hauling
Cons:
  • Heavier, worse MPG
  • More stress on suspension
  • More rubbing issues depending on your setup
  • Steering feels a little slower

35x11.5x17

Pros:
  • Lighter and easier on the truck
  • Better MPG and better road manners
  • Easier to fit with less rubbing
  • Still has the height of a true 35”
Cons:
  • Not as much traction in softer terrain
  • Not as aggressive of a stance
I do a mix of daily driving, hauling, fishing trips, and some off-road, so I’m leaning toward the 11.5 wide for easier fitment and better drivability. But the 12.5s definitely look better.

Anyone running either size on a 3rd gen? What are your thoughts? Any rubbing or regrets?
