2023 TRD Off Road SR5 4X4
After living with my 3rd Gen Tundra TRD Off-Road for a while, I can honestly say:

No regrets choosing it over the TRD Pro.
Here’s why the TRD Off-Road might just be the smartest trim you can get:

Serious Off-Road Capability:
The TRD Off-Road comes loaded with everything you actually need:
  • Bilstein shocks
  • Locking rear differential
  • Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select
  • Skid plates
It’s ready for serious trails — no major upgrades needed.
Massive Savings:
You save thousands compared to the TRD Pro.

That extra money?

It can go straight into real upgrades — like suspension lifts, wheels, tires, bumpers — exactly how you want them.

More Customization Freedom:
With the TRD Off-Road, you aren’t locked into specific Pro-only options. You can pick your own style, color combos, wheels, and aftermarket parts without paying extra to replace “premium” stuff you might not even like.

Better Daily Driving:
The Bilstein shocks on the TRD Off-Road ride smoother on pavement than the Pro’s Fox suspension if you daily your truck. It still eats up trails but feels better when you’re cruising the highway or city streets.

Still Loaded with Tech:
You’re not missing out.
You still get all the good stuff:
  • 4x4 capability
  • Safety Sense
  • Crawl Control
  • Multi-Terrain Select
  • Great towing capacity
The TRD Pro is nice, no doubt. But the TRD Off-Road hits the perfect balance of capability, value, and upgrade potential. If you love building your truck your way — and not breaking the bank — the TRD Off-Road is hands down the move.
