Alright, I’ll admit it — I took a chance on one of those Amazon aftermarket bed steps everyone scrolls past.
And honestly? I’m impressed.
I picked up one of the under-bumper flip-down style steps that claimed to fit the 2022–2025 Tundra. It showed up in a plain box, no fancy branding, but the install was straightforward — about 15 minutes with basic hand tools. It bolted right into the factory mounting points, no drilling, no weird alignment issues.
Once installed, the thing actually feels solid. I’ve stepped on it a ton already — loading gear, strapping stuff down, getting into the bed — and it doesn’t flex or creak. It tucks up cleanly when not in use, and clears my 35s with no problem.
For the price (around $89 shipped), I’d say it’s a win. The finish looks decent, and if it ever starts to rust or loosen up, I could replace it twice before hitting OEM pricing.
If you’re on the fence about trying one — I’d say go for it. Just make sure you double-check the listing for “2022+ Tundra fitment.”
I’ll update if anything changes over time, but for now, I’m honestly impressed with how sturdy it is for the money.
Anyone else try an Amazon step and have similar luck? Curious if some of the other styles are just as good.
