Hello y’all,

I just installed a set of Hankook Dynapro ATM 315/70/17s on my Tundra and wanted to share my first impressions after the first 300 miles. Here are my rating points to compare against other tires I’ve run.

Road Noise: Definitely louder than the Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws that came off the truck, but nowhere near as loud as mud terrains. For a 35" all-terrain, the noise is totally acceptable.

Ride Comfort: The biggest change comes from moving off the 20" wheels I had before. Now with 17s and a lot more sidewall, the ride is noticeably smoother and more forgiving.

Traction: Grip has been solid so far on pavement and dirt. I’m curious to see how they do in snow and ice, especially with the number of siping cuts in the tread.

Steering/Handling: You can feel and hear the blocky tread edges a little more when turning, but nothing out of the ordinary for a tire this size.

Weight/MPG Impact: According to the dash, my fuel economy dropped from about 19.6 mpg down to 18.7 mpg after the swap. Time will tell if it levels out.

Appearance:
These trucks were simply meant to be on 35s. The stance and look is exactly what I was going for.

Final Thoughts: Overall, I wouldn’t go back. That said, next time around I might try a 295/70/17 to see if the slightly smaller size helps with weight and performance. So far though, the Hankook Dynapro ATM has been great — especially compared to mud tires I’ve run in the past. It’s a tire I’d buy again. Hankook may not be as common in the off-road crowd, but they’ve impressed me. My only nitpick is I wish my set was made in the USA instead of Korea, but that’s just a personal preference.

I’ll keep y’all posted as the miles add up.
