Bump stops are one of those suspension components that most people never think about until they start pushing their truck harder whether that’s off-road, hauling weight, or simply running larger tires and suspension.
After spending some time running the Perry Parts Gen 3 bump stops, I started realizing how much difference a properly designed bump stop can make in the overall feel and control of the suspension.
Here are the top three reasons I think upgrading your bump stops is worth it:
1. Better Control at Full Compression

Most factory bump stops act more like a hard stop when the suspension bottoms out. The Perry Parts Gen 3 design uses internal air chambers and venting, which helps slow the suspension down progressively instead of stopping it abruptly. The result is a much smoother and more controlled engagement.
2. Tunability for Different Builds

One of the coolest features of the Gen 3 system is the swappable bump stop design. The base stays mounted while the bump stop itself can be changed out. That means you can adjust for things like added weight, different suspension setups, or future modifications without replacing the entire system.
3. Advanced Design Made Possible with 3D Printing

Because these are 3D printed, Perry Parts is able to incorporate internal air channels and structures that would be extremely difficult or expensive to achieve with traditional injection molding. Those internal chambers allow the bump stop to manage airflow and compression in a way that improves performance and feel.
I’ve been running these for a bit now and they’ve definitely changed how the rear suspension behaves, especially under load. I’ll share some real-world impressions and photos below
