Ok let start with this is complete my opinion but I think its 100% valid.

1. The Wireless Charger

The wireless QI charger mounted in the center console of the truck is completely useless. It chargers slow, makes your phone hot and drops the connection constantly. Also when you turn or hit a bump it falls off of it? I have switched over to mag safe chargers for my iphone becuase this thing is useless.

2. USB on the Dash

I got a few complaints about this. Yes I know its to plug in 3rd party devices to the screen. But it also charges slow and is mainly used for data. But really you couldn't have hidden it in the center console like Ford? Also it is white? It would have costed pennies extra to make the thing black? Could have done so much better.

3. 400w inverter

This one gets me going! Only a 400w inverter? In power specification wise this isn't even enough power to run a corded handheld drill. Its good for battery charger and some lights but not even flood lights. The 4th Gen Tacoma got a 2400w inverter in on their hybrid model and the hybrid model Tundra didn't even get that. I carry a portable battery bank with me but it would be nice to just use my truck.

4. 360 Camera View

Ok the cameras around the truck are 100% useful and if you can get that feature. BUT it seems like the cameras always want to show me this 360 view of my truck on the screen and I have to click around to get the view that I want to see at that moment. Just seems like a useless animation to me.

5. The JBL System

The JBL system needless to says leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn't get very loud, the sound just feels off, and there isn't much room to upgrade it because it is designed specifically by JBL. There are companies that make mods for it but tend to be kind of pricey when I would rather have a stock Amp and swap out for some good speakers.

I actually agree with you on this one, I wish the bed outlet had more output, especially seeing what Toyota did with the Tacoma hybrids. Feels like a missed opportunity on the Tundra.

That said, I ended up accidentally finding a really solid use for it. I run my Starlink in a Harbor Freight Apache case mounted on my bed rack, and that 400w inverter has been perfect for powering it without having to get a wire from the cab or engine bay all the way back there. Now it’s to the point where literally every longer off-road trip, that plug is in use the entire time.

Maybe I just got lucky finding something that fits within that power limit, but it’s turned into one of the more useful features for how I use the truck.
