Alright Toyota, it’s time – we need a Tundra Trailhunter edition, and here’s why.

We’ve seen the Trailhunter trim roll out on the Tacoma and Land Cruiser, and it’s clear that Toyota is listening to the overland community. But when it comes to full-size trucks, the Tundra is being left out of the conversation – and that’s a huge missed opportunity.

Here’s why the Tundra Trailhunter should be next:
  • More payload and towing capacity than midsize platforms, perfect for heavier overland builds and full-size campers.
  • Room to include factory ARB gear like bumpers, skid plates, and sliders that are trail-ready right off the lot.
  • Integrated power solutions, roof rails, and lighting options would cater to those of us who camp off-grid for days.
  • Factory-tuned suspension upgrades and clearance could rival aftermarket setups, making the Tundra a turn-key adventure rig.
  • And let’s be real – it would look insane in a factory-painted Earth Tone or Camo finish with Trailhunter badging.
Toyota already has the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain in place, which would be a beast for long-distance trails with better torque and efficiency. Add in the Trailhunter tech and capability, and it could give the Power Wagon and AT4X a real run for their money.

What do you all think? Would you go for a Tundra Trailhunter if it came with factory overland-ready gear? What features would you want to see included? Let’s get the discussion going – maybe Toyota will finally give the full-size crowd the Trailhunter treatment we’ve been waiting for.
